In 1822 Clement Clarke Moore wrote "The Night Before Christmas" for his children. Now, of course, his tale is read aloud to children around the world in anticipation of Santa&&&^s arrival. This Christmas Eve tradition calls for the wondrous treat of Julie Downing&&&^s jewel-toned watercolor illustrations vibrant with the rich visual detail of the Victorian age.
